2018 Best of Show for the State of Ohio

The Federal Duck Stamp Contest is a national contest for artists across the nation to submit artwork of waterfowl to promote wildlife conservation and habitat restoration. Every year, dedicated artists submit and their artwork is judged on captivity and authenticity. The winner receives national recognition and reward. In 2018 I submitted my own work to the Jr. Federal Duck Stamp Contest, (eligible for 18 and under). My submission “Morning Flight” is oil paint on a 9x12 wood board, depicting a green-winged teal taking flight from a wetland with the rising sun in the background. My submission won 1st place in the state, awarded “Best of Show for the State of Ohio”. Afterwards my artwork gained state and national recognition as it toured across the nation for a year being displayed in galleries and events.
